Japanese businessmen interested in the project of construction of LNG in Primorye
The Chairman of the Parliament of Maritime Victor Gorchakov met with representatives of the Japanese Association for Trade with Russia and the independent states (ROTOBO).
The main theme of the meeting - the prospects of energy development in the region. The delegation included top managers of energy, gas, construction and investment companies, engineering of business representatives, academics, experts and mining economy. The delegation was headed Hitotsubashi University professor Kiikkava Mr. Takeo.
Participants of the meeting discussed the constraints of the industry - the low bandwidth of the Russian railways and ports, lowering world prices for natural resources, and environmental issues were discussed.
Speaker of the Parliament of the seaside noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has closely followed the development of energy in the Maritime region, it was he who chose the site for the location of the plant for liquefied natural gas in the Khasan district of Primorye.
Japanese businessmen have asked the authorities of Primorye plan to convince the public of the need for the construction of the plant. The Chairman of the Parliament of Primorye expressed hope that the residents of Khasan district could get, because with the advent of LNG in the area in the first place, there will be new jobs.
