Minister of the Russian Federation on the development of the Far East Plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in FEFD Victor Ishayev links prospects of the region with the establishment of economic contacts with Vietnam. In a speech in the State Duma within the framework of the «governmental hour» Viktor Ishayev reported that on June 17 he will meet with the President of Vietnam. It will be about establishing economic relations in the sphere of processing and light industry, the creation of furniture and textile production. Victor Ishaev noted that, certainly, the Russian side should offer Vietnam favorable conditions for economic cooperation, and in particular, did not exclude it, Vietnamese colleagues will be guaranteed some preferences, such as an exemption from tax on profit, on the ground, preferential rate for the payment of property tax. The Minister stressed that Russia is extremely important to develop cooperation with the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. In this region, he said, accounts for 60% of world GDP. «Today the economy of the European Union looks rather sad, and the only centre of development is the APR. If you take the total volume of Russian trade, 49 per cent trade with Europe and only 24% Asia-Pacific region. That is, the economic relations with this region we have not built properly. I do not propose to cut relations with Europe. We have a good niche, it is necessary to support, but we need to develop and ties with the APR through the far East», — said Victor Ishaev.
