The number of accidents involving mopeds, scooters and mokikov in Russia since 2004 has grown tenfold. Not lagging behind in this respect, and Primorsky Krai.
There is a particularly acute problem in the spring when the lost over the winter driving skills seriously affect the reaction of the driver, causing a hazardous situation.
In 2012 in Primorye moped riders have made more than 500 accidents. This, at first sight, child transport caused the death of 28 people and hundreds of serious injuries and permanent disabilities. More than 80% of the accidents occurred through the fault of a two-wheeler drivers.
Given the fact that the driver's permit for the moped and an equivalent vehicle is not required, knowledge of traffic rules by drivers such remains in their own conscience.
According to experts' estimates of the Federal Customs Service, the average annual importation of such vehicles is 20 to 30 thousand, that is, for the last 10 years, the country imported about 300000 units of mopeds, scooters and mokikov. Thus, it appears that the country is operated annually at least 1.5 million mopeds and similar vehicles, most of which are structurally much higher than earlier models produced and in its dynamic characteristics very close to motorcycles.
This is really a big problem, especially since most of these vehicles run minors who do not have a driver's skill and often get into accidents.
Coming together, teenagers start to show off their first vehicles, and then go from words to action and start the so-called "pokatushki." Last year, the race turned into a teenage such severe injuries to 88 children.
Speaking of motorcycles, then things are not so rosy - last year in our area was about 300 motoavary, which killed 47 people, and 44 people were fatally injured through the fault of a motorcycle - that speeding, and exit at oncoming traffic, and alcohol intoxication.
But the most common serious injury provokes lack even basic protection - helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, not to mention the protection of the neck, "shell", "turtle", etc.
Season two-wheeler is just beginning, and with it a two-alarm statistics. Employees maritime traffic police appealed to all road users: be very careful, polite, take care of personal safety!
Separate request to parents: If you do decide to make a child happy "adult toy" - take the time to study it, to explain the rules of traffic, ensure that the necessary equipment, and most importantly supervise young driver driving seat!
