Today, the prosecutor took the edge coordination meeting of law enforcement edge.
The meeting examined the effectiveness of interventions for the prevention, detection and suppression of corruption, as well as the status of work on organized crime.
The meeting noted that in the last year there is a rise in reported crimes of corruption. They are dominated by fraud committed by officials, receiving and giving bribes.
Meanwhile, prosecutors identify the numerous cases of non-compliance of anti-corruption standards highlights the need to strengthen the work in this direction.
In the fight against organized crime meeting there have been positive moments. As a result of the measures worked out by law enforcement agencies, suppressed the activity of a number of gangs specializing in drug trafficking, extortion, theft of vehicles.
At the same time, the work should be strengthened to detect and prevent criminal groups in the economy, including the forestry and fishing sector.
Meeting adopted a resolution providing for additional measures to combat corruption and organized crime.
