Penalties for consumer fraud can increase at least five times, according to «Prime». The State Duma will consider the bill in the first reading on March 19.
The amount of penalty for poor quality works for businesses will be increased from 20-30 to 100-300 thousand thousand. Counting and obveshivanie visitors by private entrepreneurs would be punishable by a fine of up to 100 thousand rubles instead of two thousand. For repeat violations and «for serious illegal actions on the part of entrepreneurs\’ offered to suspend their activities.
One of the authors of the bill, the first deputy head of the Duma Committee on Industry, First Vice-President of the Union of Russian Engineering Vladimir Gutenev believes that changes to the existing legislation is long overdue.
