"This year, the whole defense order for the enterprises of the Far East increased by 60% compared with the previous year. More than 50% increased defense contracts for shipbuilding. These are good numbers. The increase in defense orders for shipbuilding occurred in almost all areas of county. Primorsky Krai, for example, defense contracts increased by almost 2-fold. Unfortunately, the reduced order in the Khabarovsk square - by 18%, but the results of today's meeting shows that this gap will be fixed, "- said the envoy. V.Ishaev said that today in the Far East are 23 enterprises of shipbuilding. 16 of them are located in the Primorsky Krai, 5 - in the Khabarovsk region, one - in the Kamchatka region and the Amur region. "Gross product that they produce is relatively small - only 1.5% of the total gross regional product of all the regions of the Far East. But we understand that the Far East - an outpost which is a strategic area which should be protected. Given that the border is mainly through the Pacific Ocean, the role of shipbuilding increases significantly, "- he stressed. In this regard, the envoy reiterated the need to keep the second Russian shipbuilding center, including the center of the atomic shipbuilding in the Far East.
