7 September in Vladivostok International Film Festival kicks off XI Asia-Pacific countries «Pacific Meridian». As RIA «VladNews» the press service of «Pacific Meridian» film festival will open a fantastic picture of David Twohy «Riddick» with Vin Diesel in the lead role. «Riddick» — the third in a series of films about space outlaw Riddick («Black Hole», 2000 «The Chronicles of Riddick», 2006). Presentation of the film took place at the annual Comic «Comic-Con» in San Diego in July of this year. The budget of the film has made $ 38 million, while the creation of the second part, «The Chronicles of Riddick», took 105 million. Thus, the third film promises to be more independent, and possibly repeat the success of the film «Black Hole» in 2000 filmed for $ 23 million and received cult status. The Russian premiere of the film «Riddick» will be held on September 12 but Vladivostok viewer can see a picture of the week before — the opening of the Festival «Pacific Meridian» on September 7. «This year, we decided to appeal to the viewer\’s movie on opening film festival, it\’s not our first experience. Spectator films were «Typhoon» Khen Taek Kwak, and «Mongol» by Sergei Bodrov. We are grateful to the company «Central Partnership» for the fact that they have kindly given us a picture of the Russian premiere of «Riddick». In our view, this is a very high-quality work and a professionally made film. This is the first Hollywood blockbuster in Vladivostok at the opening of the Film Festival «Pacific Meridian» — this has never happened before! Therefore, we are extremely curious as to what the venture succeed.
