The possibility of opening a branch of the museum in Vladivostok was discussed at a meeting of the Governor of Primorye Vladimir Miklushevsky and Hermitage director Mikhail Piotrovsky in the international economic forum in St. Petersburg.

The first branch of the Hermitage appeared in Kazan, and then in Vyborg. The museum has and foreign branches in Amsterdam.

"The delegation visited the Hermitage in a historic building built in 1903 on the street Svetlanskaya, 38. Together with representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the police, they took a tour, assessed the state rooms, electrical wiring and plumbing. According to RIA Novosti, Deputy General Director of the Hermitage Vladimir Matveyev, a lot of work to bring the building up, as it stood empty for decades, and there are some problems with internal communications.
