And this year monitoring from the air helped to prevent illegal cutting of wood with a volume of over 250 cubic meters. At the moment the investigation of the criminal case continues. «The administration of Primorye and law enforcement authorities to develop a clear program to remove criminals from the forest industry,» — assured the representatives of mass media, Vice-Governor of Primorsky Krai Alexander Elk. He also noted that last year the region acted as the venue for a number of important international political events. «In these circumstances, when we proclaimed openness to foreign investment, honest, transparent partnership, we cannot allow a potential investor to feel slighted because of the availability of any additional, in addition to legal, conditions for successful business. Therefore, the Krai administration and law enforcement bodies are actively working in the sphere of decriminalization of economy of region», — said Alexander Elk. According to the participants of the briefing, the implementation of measures for the decriminalization of Primorye should be comprehensive in nature, assuming a change of legislation in the sphere of export of natural resources at the Federal level, strengthening responsibility for illegal actions in the field of forest and water biological resources, increasing of the living standard of inhabitants of the region.
