Killer mayoral candidate Dalnegorsk sentenced to 11 years in prison
In Primorye, convicted for the murder of a candidate for mayor of the city of Dalnegorsk Dmitry Fotyanov.
According to the Senior Assistant Attorney Primorye Elena Telegina, June 242013 Primorsky Regional Court sentenced a resident of the city of Dalnegorsk, who was found guilty of committing crimes under Art. 105 of the Criminal Code (murder committed socially dangerous way, a group of persons by prior agreement) and Art. 222 of the Criminal Code (trafficking in firearms and ammunition).
As stated at the hearing, in September 2006 a man together with his friends and Fahretdinova Fedotov, experiencing personal dislike for one of the candidates for the post of head of administration Dalnegorsky urban district, decided to kill him.
October 192006 armed with two machine guns Kalashnikov design, equipped with appliances silent flameless fire and ammunition, the three of them drove to specially acquired by minibus with transit numbers to one of the homes along the boulevard Polina Osipenko in Dalnegorsk where there were waiting for their prey.
When about 12 hours arrived at the scene the victim, the defendant and Fedotov through an open window while the vehicle interior aimed shots fired from rifles to the victim. As a result of the injuries incompatible with life, the latter died.
These acts were committed in the immediate vicinity of the school, where at that time there were children. Later minibus with automatic rifles were burned to cover up the crime.
Having recognized the defendant guilty of murder and arms trafficking, the court sentenced the latter to 11 years' imprisonment to be served in a penal colony (the sentence is determined taking into account the consideration of the case in a particular order in connection with the pre-trial accused of a cooperation agreement).
It should be noted that in November 2006 a man was hiding from justice and the federal wanted list. Other partners of the crime were sentenced earlier regional court to long prison terms and are currently serving sentences in correctional facilities.
