According to the chief ideologist of the festival, the leader of Mumiy Troll, Ilya Lagutenko, «Rock of Vladivostok» is a hybrid of the conference of the representatives of the music industry, creative educational laboratory for musicians and city festival, where open air performances coexist with chamber of the show-cases. This is a chance for young musicians to show itself to the world and a chance to make the city a welcoming base for creative people. To be the musical capital of the region, Vladivostok, according to the chief of «Troll», keeps its geographical position. «Ten years ago, the idea of such a festival would be fantastic. But now Vladivostok may indeed be the musical capital of the entire region, because it is at the crossroads of Asia, Europe and America,» says Lagutenko. Among the participants of the festival — Americans Julien-K, the Chinese P.K. 14 kings garage psychedelia of Dengue Fever, performing music in Khmer, but also some of the most notable rockers China Wang Wen, who performed on the same stage with Mogwai and Mono.
