Today, 11 June, mayor Igor Pushkarev held a meeting with intellectuals of the city. The meeting was attended by artists, photographers, art critics, teachers, journalists. Participants of the meeting discussed the role of socio-cultural projects in the development of the city, the possibility of holding in Vladivostok art fairs for young artists and the creation of a single exhibition space. «It is no secret that in Vladivostok, as nowhere else-Urals exhibition life is the most interesting, intensive, in addition, we represent our artists in other cities. So, in April, gallery «ARKA» represented Russia at the exhibition in Paris. To represent Vladivostok at the fair, we addressed the city administration and received support, — told the Director of the gallery «ARKA» Vera Glazkova. — Such meetings are people working in the artistic space, to which the mayor Igor Pushkarev, they help to develop a plan for the further development». As noted artist Gennady Kungurov, now the city\’s creative environment, some positive changes, with the support of the administration of Vladivostok new art objects, urban sculpture and more. However, representatives of the creative community agreed that the lack of spaces for exhibitions and workshops for work. Igor Pushkarev stressed that such meetings should be held periodically, as the representatives of the creative environment put forward proposals based on the needs of the artistic community. The mayor noted that the issues of creation of new art objects, additional exhibition spaces in Vladivostok gradually resolved. So, the decision about the restoration of the old water tower near the Central square, the building known as a «refrigerator» (near the railway station), square and to create one of the promenade. The tower will be built pavilions, thus, in Vladivostok will be a new object of art, where artists and photographers will be able to exhibit their work.
