The workshop organizers were the Engineering school of the far Eastern state University, far Eastern regional educational-methodical centre (ДВРУМЦ), Primorsky branch of the Russian Academy of natural Sciences and others As told to the correspondent of RIA «VladNews» the organizers, the seminar will focus on the development of cities with limited natural conditions of the territory and on the use of underground space beneath the city needs. Special attention will be paid to the issue of development of underground space, Vladivostok. Vladivostok is the unique geographical and natural position the city, the development of which should be given the limits of the urban territory and specific relief of the Muravyov-Amursky Peninsula. Scientists Engineering school of the far Eastern Federal University will present their projects at the workshop effective solving of complex tasks of development of underground space of non-traditional methods is based on the complex town-planning problems of the capital of the Primorsky territory transport, environmental, water supply and treatment of domestic and industrial sewage. The organizers of the event claim that the basis of all the current problems of congestion and traffic jams on the busiest routes, was founded in the 1960s-1980s: in the Soviet period of development of Vladivostok city planning policy trends prevailed false economy of funds allocated for the solution of the major urban problems of the city (at the expense of rational and efficient use of застраиваемой territory). In the city\’s leading design organizations gradually disappeared specialists on underground construction, and on the basis of existing universities training of mining engineers-builders are not carried out. Scientists propose gradual solution of transport problems by constructing a system of underground tunnels. In their opinion, the project will allow to improve ecological situation in the city, because when operation of the tunnel exhaust emissions from motor transport will be lower compared to the emissions arising during the operation of transport on the existing transport routes. It is connected with reduction of volume of combustible fuels and automobiles, increasing speed, moreover in the case of the use of the tunnel will reduce time of a finding of transport in transit. Traffic noise, moving through a tunnel, will be virtually zero. Comparison of the alternatives of revenue and expenditure parts of the tunnel project shows that the payback period of construction is 12-14 years.
