In the U.S., opened the "Park of Glory", dedicated to the history of Russia

In the U.S. city of Howell /NJ /, located 80 km south of New York, unveiled "Park of Glory" Russia, ITAR-TASS reported.

At the park's alleys are monuments to prominent figures in the history of Russia, including Moscow princes and generals of Alexander Nevsky and Dmitry Donskoy, the founder of Holy Trinity Monastery, later canonized St. Sergius of Radonezh, the king Peter the Great to Catherine the Great, king of the Liberator Alexander II, generals Mikhail Kutuzov and Georgy Zhukov, Admiral Fyodor Ushakov and Pavel Nakhimov.

In the park you can see the monuments of prominent poets and writers, including Alexander Pushkin, Mikhail Lermontov, Nikolai Gogol.

"The opening of the park dedicated to the celebration of our compatriots Days of Russian Culture, which started on 24 May, the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture. During the two weeks we have planned a lot of different activities that will end on June 8 with a concert dedicated to the birthday of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin " - told Itar-Tass President of the Foundation "Rodina" Alexander Cooper. He added that "the Park of Glory" will be the center of attraction for all the talking, thinking and feeling in Russian compatriots who happened to find themselves outside of Russia, and is a symbol of the centuries-old ties between Russia and the United States.

Among the guests at the opening of the "Park of Glory" were Russian diplomats, local city officials, clergy, Russian Cossacks abroad and numerous Russian community in the U.S

Foundation "Rodina" is the successor of Russian-American Cultural-Educational Society "Homeland", created by Russian emigres in 1954. The first "Homeland" has provided charitable assistance to immigrants, and eventually became one of the largest repositories of historical relics Russian, Savings compatriots in exile. It presented the rare examples of military uniforms, banners, awards, photos. However, in the mid-1990s, the museum, which numbered at that time about 40 thousand exhibits, by decision of the company was transferred to Russia.
