The State Duma is preparing amendments to the law «On Combating Corruption», according to which officials will have to be tested on a polygraph (lie detector) occupation of a position in the government. This is reported by «Izvestia» in reference a source in the presidential administration.
The introduction of such «anti-corruption» tests will be discussed at the next meeting of the Anti-Corruption Council under the President of the Russian Federation, to be held in June.
According to a member of the Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption, United Russia Ilya Kostunova, lie detector tests will be particularly useful for appointment to the posts related to the distribution of budget funds.
The precedent of the mass of a polygraph test officials took place in Kazan in 2007 — as a result of the city government were laid off 80 employees.
