JSC «VimpelCom» (brand «Beeline») announces the completion of the first phase of the deployment of GSM networks in seven subjects of the Russian Far East and Eastern Siberia, in which GSM services are available to residents in more than 500 settlements.

in the Primorsky Territory, with 48 towns «Beeline» has become the first telecom operator to launch mobile network. We are talking about a number of remote communities in the territory of Yakutia, Primorye, Chukotka, Koryak, the Jewish Autonomous Region and the Ust-Orda Buryat Autonomous Okrug (UOBAO) Irkutsk region.
«The emergence of mobile communications in remote areas significantly improves the quality of life, provides access to advanced services, and creates the conditions for the economic development of the territories.\’s Far East, given the enormous distances, the issue of communication is especially important. Therefore, we will continue the implementation of this important social problem: until the end of 2013 in the region will be built more than 1250 base stations, and only a part of this project up to 2018 is planned to start in about 1750 base stations «, — said Vladimir Kopyl, regional director of the Far Eastern region of» VimpelCom «.
GSM Network Development Project initiated by the results of the victory of «VimpelCom» in 2011 in competitions for GSM-licenses to provide telecommunications services in the Primorsky Territory, Yakutia, Magadan and the Jewish Autonomous Region, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Kamchatka Koryak Okrug and UOBAO. At the moment, 85% of the residents of these areas have access to a network of «Beeline».
Further construction of the network, the project will be carried out mainly in small and remote communities, most of which will be provided with mobile phones for the first time. By the end of the year more than 90% of the population of these licensed territories of the Far East and Eastern Siberia will be in the coverage area of the network «Beeline».
