Today, May 14 the head of Vladivostok Igor Pushkarev met with visiting in our city representatives corporation Google — director of development of strategic partnerships in Eastern Europe Dmitry Korchagin and manager of «Sitiskanner» authorized agency in the Russian project Google Business Photos and Indoor Mapping Alexander Demin.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Head of the Administration of Vladivostok Roman Pockets, adviser to the head of Vladivostok Vladimir Zakharov and Acting Head of the Transport Authority of the City Yevgeny Sorokin.
During the meeting, «guglovtsy» made a presentation of the corporation sold in many countries of the world-scale projects. Among them — the opportunity to get on the Internet three-dimensional views of urban landscapes and the brightest objects, to perform remote tours of the major museums and art galleries of the world, as well as real-time to find out the timetable and location of any form of public transport, to understand and to get the required visual reference information inside the largest transportation, cultural, sports, shopping facilities.
Guests were told that this year, Google starts in Russia to implement several new projects, and Vladivostok is defined in this respect as one of the five pilot cities. In this case, the projects do not require additional budget funding, and only need institutional support from the Administration of Vladivostok and a number of city agencies.
Igor Pushkarev said that one of the priorities of Vladivostok is its integration into the global information space, which is a powerful stimulus for the development of tourism, business, cultural, educational, sporting contacts. Therefore, cooperation with the specialists of Google will increase the international visibility and popularity of Vladivostok. Especially because, as noted by Igor Pushkarev, the capital of Primorye has unique even on a global scale, both historic and modern facilities that are worthy of the broadest presentation.
