The Advisory Group has issued a recommendation to UNESCO to make the Japanese Mount Fuji as a World Heritage organization. This writes the ITAR-TASS news agency citing local media .
They are confident that the final verdict of the organization will be positive, as practice shows, in the case of a direct recommendation from the Advisory Group of the UNESCO project eventually assigned to the appropriate status. The official decision will be announced in June at a meeting of the organization, which will be held in Cambodia.
According to the advisory group, Mount Fuji is a true symbol of Japan and shows a caring attitude to the nature of the country. There are currently 12 sites in Japan, listed as UNESCO World Heritage Site, including Castle «Himeji» /»Castle egret» /in Hyogo Prefecture and Hiroshima Peace Memorial.
Mount Fuji — an active volcano. It is located on the island of Honshu, about 90 km south-west of Tokyo, and is the highest mountain in Japan: Its height is 3776 meters. The eruption of the famous volcano was last recorded in 1708. Fuji — one of the most popular in Japan among foreign tourists. At its top is located Shinto shrine and a meteorological station.
