In Vladivostok, noted the 38th anniversary of the victory of the Vietnamese people's struggle for liberation and unification of the country.
The initiators and organizers of this solemn and at the same time warm and informal activities have become the Consulate General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Vladivostok, Primorsky Branch of the Society of Friendship between Russia and Vietnam Veterans Council of the Far Eastern Shipping Company with the support of the Administration of Vladivostok.
In their speeches, the Consul General of Vietnam in Vladivostok Tran Duy Thi, a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Vladivostok Brovarets Andrew, chairman of the Regional Association for Friendship with Vietnam to Russia Alexander Sokolov, Head of International Relations and Tourism Administration of Vladivostok Vladimir Saprykin said that Russia is very much relates to the Vietnam. It is symbolic, and the fact that our major holidays - Days of Victory almost the same time. We are in 1945 and the Vietnamese in 1975 - showed unprecedented courage and heroism, defeated the invaders and won freedom.
Especially durable, time-tested relations were established in Vietnam with Vladivostok. In our town several times been the leader of the Vietnamese people, Comrade Ho Chi Minh City. In Vladivostok then laid the foundation of our friendship and this strategic partnership. In honor of this event four years ago was a memorial plaque on the building of the railway station.
In the 70 years of the twentieth century, during the American aggression against the Vietnamese people, the sailors of the Far Eastern Shipping Company under the bombs brought the Vietnamese port of Haiphong our military and humanitarian aid. A great contribution to the liberation of Vietnam have made our military advisers and experts.
Many of these veterans have been invited to the event and shared their memories of those events, they are warmly welcomed and thanked for their courage and professionalism.
Today, Beijing is actively developing with Vietnam mutually beneficial economic, trade and cultural ties. This contributes to the memorandum of friendly relations between Vladivostok and the city of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam signed in 2009. Characteristic fact: in 2010 after awarding the title of Vladivostok City of Military Glory of Russia, became the first foreign diplomats congratulated on this occasion the head of Vladivostok Igor Pushkarev and all citizens is the Consul General of Vietnam.
In the Far Eastern State University, and now - in the Far Eastern Federal University for more than a quarter-century trains specialists in Vietnam with the participation of leading professors from the country. We are actively working the Russian-Vietnamese friendship, as well as Vietnamese cultural and educational centers. In the past year, the capital of Primorye was successfully held festival of culture and tourism in Vietnam. We also consider opening in Vladivostok industrial park with Vietnamese investment.
All of this is a strong foundation for the further development of relations of friendship and cooperation Vladivostok and Vietnam.
