World Day was celebrated yesterday, 28 April, more than 100 countries worldwide. It aims to enhance the public\’s attention to the problem of reducing injuries and fatalities in the workplace, improve working conditions and safety. This year the Day of labor was devoted to the prevention of occupational diseases.
Worldwide, occupational disease — the main cause of mortality associated with industrial activity. According to the International Labour Organization of the 234 million annual deaths in the workplace 321000 is due to an accident. The reason for the remaining 202 million deaths (or 5500 deaths a day) — different types of occupational diseases. This is evidence of an unacceptable deficit of decent work.
Administration of Vladivostok support ILO initiatives and encourages employers to the city, as well as the workers themselves conduct educational campaign on the prevention of work-related accidents and occupational diseases, pay attention to the working conditions at every work place, to do everything possible to improve them, to prevent work-related injuries and diseases.
