On suspicion of the crime were arrested two local residents in 1972 and born in 1980. Under pressure from the evidence they said they were raped and killed the victim.

Investigators were able to reconstruct the events. According to investigators, 3-4 June 1998 in an apartment on the street in Artem International, where she lived, her minor stepson and his friend were drinking vodka. Drunk, men, despite the resistance of the victim, raped her one by one. When the victim managed to escape, a senior, catching up with her, hit on the head with a pipe unfortunate, and stepson struck three blows of a knife in the back. Now with one of the suspects audited statements on the spot where he showed where and how the crime was committed. In a criminal case is scheduled judicial review.
