April 162013 in conjunction surface ships in Vladivostok said the funeral date. Twenty-six years ago, April 161987 tragedy struck the small missile ship «Monsoon».
While developing training and combat missions in the Gulf of Peter the Great in the superstructure «Monsoon» has got damaged missile target. Within hours, the crew fought for survival, courage and heroism shown samples of resistance in the struggle with the elements of fire. Despite this, small missile ship «Monsoon» sank. With the ship killed 39 crew members. 36 people were rescued.
After 26 years on the bay Small Ulysses gathered in Vladivostok who was involved in the memorable event. Memorial meeting was opened by Acting Commander Seaside disparate forces Captain 1st Rank Sergey Myasoedov.
«Short memory of this tragedy will never happen. This is our pain, our suffering and one of the main lessons of our marine life,» — said in a speech by Captain 1st Rank Sergey Myasoedov. During a moment of silence to remember the names of all the crew and made genuflection.
