The final of international students to manage a commercial bank «Banks Battle» («Battle of the Bank»), which is carried out of the Savings Bank\’s Corporate University and the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the President of Russia, — the press service of the Far Eastern Bank OJSC «Sberbank of Russia». The final was attended by 10 teams from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Croatia. The winner was the team of «Consolidation» from Cheboksary. Second place was the team of «Case Killers» (Kiev), the third position — «Dream Bank» from Zagreb (Croatia).
The Olympiad is held for the third year in a row. This season, for the first time the Olympics has gone beyond the borders of Russia and the CIS. The participants of the competition were more than 4000 students from all regions of Russia, CIS and Central and Eastern Europe. Thus, in the qualifying stage, which was conducted by the business of online gaming, among others was attended by teams from Austria, Hungary, Turkey, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia. The best teams then battled each other in the semifinals, which were held both in person — in Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kiev, Moscow and St. Petersburg and online.
At the heart of «Banks Battle» — a comprehensive program simulator, which simulates the management of a commercial bank. In the virtual business environment, students develop and implement their competitive strategies — make management decisions and analyzed the financial results obtained. At the end of the Olympics participating teams competed with each other at the site of the head office of Sberbank.
The award ceremony was attended by Olympic champion Deputy Chairman of Sberbank Bella Zlatkis and CEO of Corporate University Savings Natalia Zhuravleva.
