Accused of embezzlement at the APEC summit prolonged arrest

Tverskoy District Court of Moscow extended the arrest of ex-deputy head of the Ministry of Regions Roman Panov.

Detained last November Panov suspected theft of a scheme 93300000 rubles of budget allocated for the preparation and holding of the APEC summit, which was held in Vladivostok.

Believed in the Interior Ministry, Panov, along with associates organize a tender for a state contract for the engineering, scientific and technical support of the construction of the Summit, as well as private insurance unfinished objects, then secured victory in their controlled commercial firms.

In March, as part of the investigation of this case were arrested two more people — the director of «Civil Control» and his alleged accomplice.
