Alcohol and drugs in Russia will be considered an aggravating factor in any crimes
The Russian government has submitted to the State Duma a draft law proposes that an aggravating circumstance in the commission of any criminal offense of alcohol and drugs.
The announcement posted on Saturday at the site of the lower chamber of parliament.
According to the document, additions, which authorizes judges to toughen punishment, we plan to make in the first part of Article 63 of the Criminal Code. The explanatory memorandum to the draft notes that this approach meets the existing mechanisms in the field of administrative law, and that the judge is the right not to accept such a circumstance aggravating.
As previously explained the initiative in the Ministry of Justice, the number of crimes committed in a state of alcohol and drugs is growing. In the present criminal liability increases because of intoxication for drivers who have caused harm to others in the accident, reports Lenta.ru.
