In Khorol area has increased significantly the number of wolves and foxes. So, in a forest inhabited by 13 species of wolves and 535 foxes, which exceeds the rate of three and six times, respectively.
As described in the KGVBU «Maritime veterinary service», wild animals are increasingly closer to populated areas, where available contact with pets and people.
According to experts, the wild animals are often carriers of many infectious and parasitic diseases. For example, the prevalence dermatoses and parasites on examination of captured animals is about 30 percent. Thus, experts have repeatedly faced with the treatment of dogs hunting breeds, diseases which are the result of their contact with wild animals.
Therefore, an important factor in the health of the animals is timely vaccination.
Also in the area in March Khorol started preventive vaccination of wild boar population (which is estimated at 32 head) against classical swine fever virus using a vaccine for oral use.
