Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev ordered to provide 240 million rubles to support the indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East, a document published on the government\’s website on Saturday.
Subsidies are the regions in which reside the indigenous peoples, traditional way of life and the traditional economic activities. The money will be used to create the conditions for sustainable economic development of such industries.
In addition, the grant will be spent on the development of education, culture and health care, including an ethno-cultural activities, development and modernization of infrastructure and information and communication resources in the areas where minorities.
Grants will be allocated 28 regions, which are home to indigenous peoples.
