Nuclear conflict between the two Koreas is becoming more real

On Friday, the DPRK leadership has announced the release of a non-aggression agreements with South Korea, and also canceled a joint declaration on the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and blocked the direct telephone line between the two countries, reports Xinhua, citing the statement of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland.

According to the agency, the North Korean authorities move followed a few hours later after the UN Security Council adopted tough new sanctions against Pyongyang. The sanctions, approved unanimously by the Security Council, meant severe restrictions on the transfer of funds from the DPRK. In addition, the «black list» of the UN added three individuals and two organizations from North Korea. Tough measures have been taken after the December DPRK launched a missile, and in February, conducted nuclear tests, ignoring the earlier UN sanctions.

South Korean authorities said they would not rule out the possibility of using military force to «the source of aggression and on the forces of command» in case the DPRK would threaten the life and safety of the country\’s population. Earlier, the government of North Korea has promised to get out of the armistice agreement on March 11.
