The project of a liquefied natural gas will meet all environmental requirements. This was stated by Minister for Development of the Far East — the presidential envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Viktor Ishayev.
According to him, the construction of the plant of OJSC «Gazprom» for liquefied natural gas in the Khasan district must undergo statutory public hearings and environmental review.
An agreement on the construction of an LNG plant in Primorye was reached in May 2010. The project involves the construction of Peninsula University /Perevoznaya /plant for liquefied natural gas, consisting of three production lines with capacity of 5 million tons of LNG per year each. It is expected that the first line will be introduced in 2018.
