Far flood hazard discussed at envoy

Readiness of the Far East to the admission of flood waters discussed today at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission of the Plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far East for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations.

In the period of the flood forecast emergencies. During the flood is possible to achieve critical levels of the water level in the rivers of the Far East. As a result, possible flooding of up to 167 communities, over 13000 houses with a population of over 49000 people.

In addition, the zone of flooding can get up to 32 objects of the economy, 30 road bridges, and 89 miles of roads, more than 22 kilometers of power lines.

At the meeting of the interdepartmental commission noted that the safety of human settlements and economic facilities from flooding by flood waters in 2013 will not be provided because of the outstanding work on the creation of artificial protection. Thus, of the 2012 allocated for the 31 million 255 thousand rubles of federal subsidies to protect the city from flooding Ussuriysk, guerrilla and sat Ariadne Primorye not mastered 2358 million.

Interdepartmental Commission under the Plenipotentiary gave a number of instructions territorial authorities Roshydromet Rosvodresursy, RTN, Rospotrebnadzor, Emergencies Ministry and heads of municipalities.

Today, the embassy decided to create an interagency working group on planning flood prevention and control of the passage of the spring flood of 2013. Head of the working group was appointed deputy chief of the Far Eastern Regional Emergency Center Vitaly Sikora .
