All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VTsIOM) presents data on how many Russians use the Internet, they think about its development - whether it is to the benefit or detriment, and why think so.

The share of Internet users in Russia continues to grow - by March of this year them was already 67% (in September last year - 60%), with a particularly noticeable increase group active - daily users (from 36 to 41% per year). Every day, go online first 18-24-year-olds (76%), highly educated respondents (59%).

Over the last decade, the belief that the development of the "World Wide Web" is beneficial to society, strengthened - while in 200243% thought so, today - is 54%. This view is characterized first of all, for those who enjoy it daily (75%). The same position is shared by most other 18-24-year-olds (72%), highly educated respondents (64%) and metropolitan residents (63%).

The main argument of those who see more advantages in the development of the Internet - quick access to information (71%). Also, respondents who hold this position, tend to point to the possibility of communication and dating on the internet (21%). Among other reasons - ease of payment orders (7%), access to the entertainment - movies, music, games (2%), etc.

Greater negative impact in the development of a global network sees 24% and, above all, explain your position abundance of "empty" harmful information on the Internet (32%). Many (26%) in this group and those who believe that the Internet is a negative impact on young people ("zombie", dullness). In addition, respondents complain that the development of Internet, people have to communicate in reality less (14%) and that it is carried out in a lot of time (13%) and deterioration of vision (11%). Some note that the children were reading fewer books and walking (8%), etc.
