In the State Duma oppose proposals residents of Yakutsk, where on Sunday committed rape of four girls to toughen penalties for pedophiles including the death penalty. On Wednesday, about a hundred people gathered at an unsanctioned rally in the center of Yakutsk, demanding tougher penalties against child molesters. Residents organized a petition to the leadership of the country for the introduction of the death penalty for such offenders. The mayor of Yakutsk Aisen Nikolaev joined them, and sent the document to Moscow. Parliamentarians with an offer of Yakutsk residents disagreed. The MP stressed that the position of the State Duma against pedophiles is extremely tough.
